Adding DNS Records

You can add many different records to the DNS zone for a domain. For instance, an A record allows you to point a subdomain to an IP address. The following steps demonstrates how to add an A record to the DNS zone:

1. Firstly, login to Plesk.

2. Next, click Websites & Domains in the left sidebar.

3. Click on DNS Settings.

4. Then, click Add Record.

5. After that, select the type of record that you want to create in Record Type.

6. Type the name of subdomain in Domain name text box.

7. Type the server IP address in the IP address text box.

8. Lastly, click OK and then Update to activate the new record.

Managing DNS Records

1. Firstly, login to Plesk.

2. Secondly, click Websites & Domains in the left sidebar.

3. Click on DNS Settings.

4. You can modify the settings here:

    • Click on Disable to turn off the DNS entirely
    • Select Master/Slave to switch between using Plesk DNS server as master or slave
    • Click on Reset to Default to restore the default DNS settings

Removing DNS Records

1. Firstly, login to Plesk.

2. Then, click Websites & Domains in left sidebar.

3. Next, click DNS Settings.

4. Select the checkbox of the record that you want to remove.

5. Lastly, click Remove and Yes to confirm the deletion.
